$1.4M Winning Mega Millions Ticket Sold In The South Bay
A ticket with five numbers of six matching numbers was sold in the South Bay as the jackpot climbs to more than $240 million.

TORRANCE, CA — A Mega Millions lottery ticket with five numbers excluding the Mega number was sold in the South Bay, the California Lottery announced at last night's drawing.
The winning ticket, now worth $1,442,492, was sold at the AMPM Minimart at 1800 West Artesia Boulevard in Torrance.
Tuesday night's ticket matched numbers 29-57-23-6-12 and was missing the Mega number 4.
There was no jackpot winner in any state for this draw, so the estimated jackpot for Friday's drawing will grow to an estimated $240 million.

There were two other tickets sold with five numbers, but missing the Mega number, one each in Georgia and Illinois. They are each worth $1 million, according to the Multi-State Lottery Association, which conducts the game.
While tickets with five numbers, but missing the Mega number, sold in other states are worth $1 million or a multiple of $1 million, California law requires major payoffs of lottery games to be paid on a pari-mutuel basis.

The drawing was the 14th. since the last time a ticket with all six numbers was sold. The Mega Millions game is played in 45 states, the District of Columbia and U.S. Virgin Islands.
The odds of matching all five numbers and the Mega number is 1 in about 302 million, according to the California Lottery. The overall chance of winning a prize is 1 in 24.
There were a total of 80,000 winning tickets for this draw with people winning anywhere from $2 to more than $10,000.
