2 Sentenced in Death of Pats II Bouncer
Frank Cobarruvias and Rene Anthony Avina pleaded no contest to voluntary manslaughter in the death of Terie Colecchi outside Pats II Cocktails.

Two men charged in connection with the beating death of a bouncer at Pats II Cocktails in South Redondo Beach in June were sentenced Thursday to state prison terms, the Daily Breeze reported.
Francisco "Frank" Cobarruvias, 35, of Redondo Beach and Rene Anthony Avina, 23, of Carson were accused of beating Torrance resident Terie Colecchi, 49, in front of the bar where he worked. The incident happened at about 1:40 a.m. June 2.
The fight was captured by a nearby surveillance camera. Colecchi died after the fight at a local hospital.

Both Cobarruvias and Avina pleaded no contest to charges of voluntary manslaughter as part of a plea agreement. Cobarruvias received 6 years in state prison, while Avina was sentenced to 11 years.
If convicted of murder, the men could have been sentenced to 15 years to life in prison.

According to the Daily Breeze, Avina's sentence was longer due to a prior assault conviction.
