Advisory Issued For Unsafe Levels Of Bacteria At Redondo Beach
The Los Angeles County Department of Health cautions residents before swimming or surfing along the coast.

REDONDO BEACH, CA — Beachgoers in Redondo Beach were warned about elevated levels of bacteria in two areas on Friday, according to the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health.
The department collects samples weekly from various sites year-round to test and monitor bacteria levels. On Friday, the division found the ocean water at the Redondo Beach Pier and the Avenue I storm drain exceeded state standards for bacterial levels.
The public should avoid getting in the water within 100 yards up and down the coast from both the pier and the storm drain, officials said.
