AT&T Offers Halloween Tech Tips
Cell phones are ubiquitous these days. Here's how they can make trick-or-treating safer and more fun.

Along with their bag of goodies, many trick-or-treaters (and their chaperones) will be carrying cell phones this Halloween night, and many people will be making calls.
According to AT&T, cell phone use routinely goes up on Halloween. The company compiled the following tips for trick-or-treaters and their parents:
- Make sure phones are fully charged before people head out to trick-or-treat.
- Make sure everyone has the phone numbers for parents, neighbors, trusted friends and emergency services pre-programmed into the phones, and make sure that everyone knows how to find the numbers easily.
- Many smart phones have mobile navigation capabilities. Trick-or-treaters should map out a route before they leave home base, and if necessary, they can check their location on a smart phone. Many carriers also have GPS trackers installed on the phones, so stay-at-home parents can track their trick-or-treaters on the town.
- Set up periodic alarms with Halloween-themed tones as a reminder for trick-or-treaters to text or call home between candy collecting stops.
- Remember, most phones have cameras! Trick-or-treaters can send photos and videos of the spooky sights they see while on the town.
