Police Pursuit Ends With Crash, 4 Arrests And Downed Power Lines In Torrance

All lanes of Anza Avenue between Sepulveda Boulevard and Carson Street​ were closed, city officials said.

TORRANCE, CA — Four burglary suspects were arrested after crashing into a power line during a police chase early Tuesday, police say.

Police got a call about the suspects at about 4 a.m., a lieutenant with the Torrance Police Department said.

Responding officers spotted the accused burglars, and a short chase followed until the suspects’ vehicle crashed into a pole at Anza Avenue near Sepulveda Boulevard, he said.

All four suspects were taken into custody, according to police.

Neither the suspects nor the officers were hurt, the lieutenant said, adding that there was no damage to the police vehicle.

Officials urged visitors to avoid the area as SoCal Edison crews worked on repairs.
