Beach Cities Transit Adds 8 New Buses

In August and September, Beach Cities Transit added new buses to its fleet, according to the city of Redondo Beach.

Eight new buses joined the Beach Cities Transit fleet in August and September 2011, according to a news release from Redondo Beach Harbor, Business and Transit Director Pete Carmichael sent last week.

Beach Cities Transit covers Redondo Beach, Hermosa Beach, Manhattan Beach, and parts of El Segundo and Torrance.

The new vehicles, which are 32-foot and 22-foot ADA-equipped El Dorado National transit buses powered by compressed natural gas, replace five Wave Dial-a-Ride service buses and three fixed-route buses, according to the news release.
