Biggs Named Carson City Manager
David C. Biggs, who lives in Redondo Beach, served as one of Redondo's assistant city managers in the past.

A Redondo Beach resident will be Carson's newest city manager, effective Sept. 25, the city announced Thursday.
David C. Biggs, who was most recently Montebello's interim assistant city administrator, was appointed after a nearly six-month search.
Biggs served as an assistant city manager of Redondo Beach for 5 1/2 years. His last day was Oct. 8, 2010. In announcing Biggs' departure in September, Redondo Beach City Manager Bill Workman credited Biggs with initiating several new business opportunities including the proposed Shade Hotel.

"I am looking forward to joining the city on Sept. 26 and to working with the mayor and council, city staff and the community," said Biggs, who signed a three-year contract. "As a resident of the South Bay, I have come to know the city of Carson very well and I am eager to begin my tenure as city manager."
