Burglary Suspects Nabbed In South Bay

Police received a report of someone possibly tampering with a car around 3:40 a.m. Saturday.

EL SEGUNDO, CA -- Three burglary suspects were arrested early Saturday in the South Bay. El Segundo Police said Jesse Gomez, 26, of Lawndale, Stephanie Kurtz, 38, of Gardena and Vincent McGruder, 28, from Torrange were arrested on the suspicion of burglary and possession of burglary tools.

Police received a report of someone possibly tampering with a car around 3:40 a.m. Saturday in the the 400 block of W. Walnut Avenue.

Arriving officers searched the area and came in contact with a man sitting in a car. Another man and woman were standing next to the car with a bike, police said.

During the investigation, officers found a padlock that had been cut and miscellaneous hand tools, including a pair of bolt cutters, inside of the car. Officers believe the bicycle had been stolen. The suspects were driving a grey 1998 Mazda Protégé, police said.
