Cadets Sponsor Marine Corps Pyramid
The Redondo Union High School Marine Corps JROTC program sponsors the final pyramid in the Redondo Beach Veterans Memorial.

The Marine Corps Junior ROTC has raised $7,000 to sponsor the U.S. Marine Corps pyramid at the Redondo Beach Veterans Memorial, according to a news release from the Veterans Memorial Task Force.
Led by Senior Marine Instructor Chief Warrant Officer 3 Keith Willoughby, the cadets held Battalion picnics, sold discount cards for local businesses, solicited contributions from the the general public and local businesses and organizations, and conducted dine-in fundraisers at area eateries to raise money to sponsor the memorial's final period.
"The Redondo JROTC … took the task on with great enthusiasm," wrote Veterans Memorial Task Force representative Tom Lasser.

The memorial at , which was completed in 2011, includes five pyramids representing the five branches of the U.S. military—the Army, sponsored by ; Navy, sponsored by Los Angeles County Supervisor Don Knabe; Air Force, sponsored by the Air Force Association; Coast Guard, sponsored by the Kimose Family; and Marine Corps.
According to Lasser, the JROTC students also maintain and clean the memorial on an ongoing basis.
