City Offices Closed for Labor Day

Redondo Beach city offices, post offices, schools and banks will be closed Monday in observance of labor day. The holiday is also the last day of general admission for the 2011 season at .

Both libraries will also be closed, according to the city's calendar. The will open at 10 a.m. Tuesday, and the will reopen Wednesday at noon.

There will be no street sweeping Monday, but the service will continue as scheduled Tuesday and through the rest of the week, according to a notice on the city's website.

Trash pickups will also be delayed one day, according to the notice.

All schools in will be closed in honor of the holiday.

Because Fiesta Hermosa in Hermosa Beach will shut down parts of Hermosa Avenue on Labor Day, Beach Cities Transit buses will operate along designated Metro bus stops on Pacific Coast Highway. Here is the detour route, according to the Beach Cities Transit website:

Beach Cities Transit follows a Saturday service schedule on Labor Day.
