Driver Sent to Hospital After Van Overturns

The driver of a van that overturned near the intersection of West 190th Street and Hawthorne Boulevard in Torrance was sent to the hospital with unknown injuries, according to Lt. Mark Athan of the Torrance Police Department. 

A reader sent in the attached photo of the accident scene, which occurred near the border with Redondo Beach. 

According to Athan, the accident was reported at 10:37 p.m. Thursday and may have happened as a result of the driver striking a light pole. The driver was still in the vehicle when emergency crews arrived on the scene, but was conscious and talking.

Athan did not have any information on the condition or identification of the driver.
