Earthquake Strikes South Bay
A magnitude 3.2 earthquake which struck 2 miles south of Gardena is felt throughout the South Bay.

Some Redondo Beach residents awoke early Saturday morning to a sharp jolt when a magnitude 3.2 earthquake struck the South Bay.
Though there were no immediate reports of damage, many residents were startled—and many took to Twitter to broadcast the news.
"[T]hought someone was trying to break into the house," tweeted Alexandra Eisner. "[A]bout to grab my pepper spray."

While Olivia Beltran described the quake as a "quick jolt," Melissa S.—who did not reveal a last name on her Twitter profile—said it "felt like a car hit [her] house."
According to Los Angeles County Fire Department dispatch supervisor Robert Diaz, the LACFD received no calls regarding fires or earthquake damage.

The epicenter of the earthquake, which struck at 12:36 a.m., was approximately 2 miles south of Gardena.
