El Camino College Student Accused of Making Threats to Kill School Administrators

An El Camino College student was charged today with a felony count of criminal threats for allegedly threatening to kill administrators at the Torrance campus.

James Gustavo Lemus, 35, is accused of threatening on Sept. 30 to kill Dr. Francisco Arce, the college’s vice president of academic affairs, and other college administrators, according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office.

He pleaded not guilty in a Torrance courtroom and remains jailed on more than $1 million bail while awaiting his next court appearance Nov. 4.

If convicted as charged, Lemus faces up to three years in state prison.
