FBI Releases Photos of 'Safari Bandit'

The so-called "Safari Bandit" is wanted for two bank robberies—one in Redondo Beach and one in Santa Barbara.

The FBI released new photos Wednesday of the so-called "" who robbed a Redondo Beach U.S. Bank and a Montecito Bank & Trust in Santa Barbara.

The culprit received his nickname based on the clothes he wore during the robberies, the FBI said. During the robberies, he passes a typewritten note in bold, capital letters on a 3x5 index card. The note demands cash.

According to the FBI, witnesses told law-enforcement officials the Safari Bandit's mustache and sideburns are fake.

Authorities believe the robber is a 35- to 45-year-old white male who is 6 feet tall and weighs about 180 pounds. He has a medium build and brown hair.
