Firefighters Star in New Fox 11 Promo

Members of the will take center stage in a new promotional spot for Good Day L.A. on Fox 11.

Redondo Beach Patch discovered meteorologist Rick Dickert, a Redondo Beach resident, taping the "Firehouse Fridays" commercial outside the fire station on Broadway in South Redondo Beach on Wednesday.

The "Firehouse Fridays" program spotlights Southland fire departments.

"It takes a special kind of person to fight fires and save lives," Dickert says in the commercial.

"It's all about firefighters," he later told Patch, adding that the program provides an opportunity to feature them in a positive light.

For this promotional spot, which may include a brief scene with one of the firefighters telling Dickert he shouldn't quit his day job, the meteorologist decided to feature his hometown fire department.
