Gas Prices Post Increases

Gas prices posted a two-tenths of a cent increase Tuesday, raising the average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County to $3.722, City News Service reported.

The price is nearly a cent more than it was last week and about 62 cents higher than it was at this time last year; however, it's still almost 10 cents less than it was last month, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

It's possible to find lower-than-average gas prices at these stations in the Redondo Beach area. Prices are from GasBuddy.com and user-reported within the past 48 hours.

Recent increases in the price of crude oil account for the rising costs of gasoline, analysts said. Crude oil costs make up for up to three-quarters of the price of a gallon of gasoline.
