Gas Prices Starting Winter Drop?

The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped six-tenths of a cent today to $3.874, the fourth consecutive decrease following a 14-day streak of rising prices.

The average price is six-tenths of a cent less than one week ago and 3.2 cents lower than one month ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. The average price is still 74.9 cents more than this time last year.

"Prices typically decrease in the fall, and we might be seeing the start of that traditional decrease due to cheaper winter-grade gasoline and lower demand," said Jeffrey Spring of the Automobile Club of Southern California.
