Get Rid Of Unwanted Prescriptions Drugs At These South Bay Events

The events are part of a nationwide initiative to combat the opioid epidemic.

HAWTHORNE, CA — These supermarket chains are hosting free events in the South Bay on Saturday, April 26, to help anyone looking to anonymously dispose of any unwanted prescription drugs.

Ralphs and Sam's Club will be taking part in "National Prescription Drug Take Back Day," a nationwide effort to combat the opioid epidemic by providing people with a proper way to dispose of their unwanted medication.

“As many people use this time of year to participate in spring cleaning, this is the perfect opportunity to check their medicine cabinets for expired medications or medications they are no longer using,” Dr. Linh Lee, Director of Pharmacy for Ralphs Pharmacy, said in a press release.
