Hive of Aggressive Bees Eliminated
A hive containing bees that stung a 95-year-old man more than 400 times has been removed.

An exterminator has successfully eliminated a beehive full of aggressive bees near the intersection of Ruxton and Rockefeller lanes in North Redondo Beach on Thursday night, the Los Angeles Times reported Friday.

The bees became angry after an exterminator tried to flush them out Wednesday. An exterminator assigned to remove the hive Wednesday night decided to hold off because of the media presence—he didn't want the reporters to get stung, police said.

Before the bees were removed, police officers blocked off the street and told people to stay inside and keep doors and windows closed.
Police believe the bees were probably Africanized honey bees.
