L.A. Times Spotlights Waterfront Revitalization
The Redondo Beach waterfront will undergo a $300 million revitalization over the next several years.

Redondo Beach's waterfront revitalization was the subject of a Los Angeles Times story over the weekend.
In the article, reporter Christine Mai-Duc spoke with CenterCal Properties CEO Fred Bruning, as well as local officials and residents, on the future of the Redondo Beach Pier and International Boardwalk.
Bruning said he hopes the revitalization effort, which he has estimated will cost upwards of $300 million, will restore "that magic that used to be on the waterfront."
Nadine Meissner, who formed Residents for Appropriate Development with other residents of The Village condominiums, told the Times that CenterCal has "done a better job" than past developers when it comes to involving the community. The developer has held more than a half-dozen public meetings seeking input for the waterfront effort; another meeting is scheduled for Thursday at 6 p.m. at the Redondo Beach Performing Arts Center.
