Bibi Goldstein, a co-chair of the Manhattan Beach Chamber of Commerce Women in Business program, spoke about her concierge business, Buying Time LLC. She started the business after she had to take her mother's driver's license away, she said, and Goldstein couldn't find anyone to help the family run errands.

Cathy Alessandra, who runs the What's Up for Kids? magazine, told a similar story; she started her publication after she noticed a need for a list of kid-friendly events in town.

owner Sam Kartounian also spoke about how he reinvented his business. Several years ago, he saw his watch business disappearing with the proliferation of cell phones. Brown's show lasted until 4 p.m., when Maggie McKay and Michael Shappee took over. During the afternoon news—and between traffic, weather and world news reports—they interviewed and profiled many Beach Cities residents, including Howard, Spear, community activist Jim Light and Redondo Beach City Councilman Pat Aust, to name a few.
