Letter: 'Light Is Right for Me'
Letter-writer Clif Groves, a retired lieutenant colonel in the U.S. Air Force, explains why he's voting for Jim Light for Redondo Beach City Council District 1 on May 14.

Light is right for me!
As a veteran combat pilot in Vietnam, a retired military officer and a fellow professional aerospace industry employee, I encourage everyone in Redondo Beach District 1 to vote for Jim Light for Redondo Beach City Council District 1. Please do it NOW if you are voting absentee or May 14th during the runoff election.
Jim has a remarkable vision for Redondo Beach as a quaint seaside community with appeal for all ages of our incredibly diverse community. He is passionate about quality of life issues, and I can personally attest to his strong sense of integrity and character. I know Jim will add desperately needed mature leadership to a city council sometimes mired in indecision and apparent cronyism.

Having known Jim as an engineer and program manager in the aerospace industry, I wholeheartedly trust him as the right candidate for our District 1 City Council. Jim is a consummate professional who cuts through the ‘noise’ and zeros in on key issues. He produces successful results with an appealing, trusting character and a fair and honest approach to everything and everyone.
Over the past 10 years, Jim has proven his sincere love of this city by tirelessly working behind the scenes—on his own time, with his own money—to take on quality improvement projects for common sense growth in our community, in some cases singly holding our elected official’s accountable. I don’t know anyone else who has done this for our city, and that’s why Light is right for me.
