Man to File Suit Against Police in Dorner Manhunt Shooting

David Perdue plans to file a lawsuit against the Torrance Police Department, the Daily Breeze reports.

The Redondo Beach man whose pickup truck was rammed by Torrance police officers and who was shot at during the hunt for accused cop-killer Christopher Dorner will soon file suit against the Torrance Police Department, the Daily Breeze reported Friday.

Redondo resident David Perdue, a baggage handler at Los Angeles International Airport, was headed to the beach to go surfing when the incident occurred Feb. 7, minutes after officers from the Los Angeles Police Department shot at two women delivering newspapers only a few blocks away.

The incident happened near the intersection of Flagler Lane and Beryl Street, just across the Redondo Beach border.

Perdue, 38, was not shot but suffered a concussion and a shoulder injury in the crash.

Since then, he's suffered from vertigo and post-traumatic stress, his attorney, Robert Sheahen, told the Breeze.

"He tried to work once and couldn't do it," Sheahen told the newspaper. "His entire life and his wife's life were just ended by Torrance. What they did to him is unconscionable in every respect."
