Martha Barbee Unanimously Appointed to Redondo Beach City Council
The vote took only minutes, to the surprise of the city's mayor.

REDONDO BEACH, CA — It only took a few minutes for the Redondo Beach City Council to fill the vacant District 1 seat left by Jeff Ginsburg at its Tuesday night meeting, the Daily Breeze reported.
The Council unanimously appointed Martha Barbee to serve the remainder's of Ginsburg's term, which will end in seven months. The easy vote was a surprise to Mayor Steve Aspel. The contention council hardly ever agree on anything.
“For this council to vote unanimously is a coup in itself, and that’s something,” Aspel said.

Barbee is a software engineer and was recently a member of the Redondo Beach's Historical Commission. She has also served on the 33rd Congressional District Parent-Teacher Association and been a president of several homeowner associations.
