Mom Killed 10-Year-Old Son, Then Self In Redondo Beach: RBPD
The case has been classified as a murder-suicide, and no suspects are being sought, according to the Redondo Beach Police Department.
REDONDO BEACH, CA — A woman found dead inside a Redondo Beach home last month killed her 10-year-old son and then killed herself, Redondo Beach police said Thursday.
The bodies were discovered about 11:20 a.m. Sept. 25 when officers went to a home in the 2100 block of Gates Avenue to conduct a welfare check, Redondo Beach police Lt. Fabian Saucedo said.
Cheryl Dianne Soto, 38, and her son Carter Perez died at the scene, according to the coroner's office, which reported that the woman hanged herself. The boy's cause of death was listed as "deferred pending further investigation," according to the coroner's office.
