Refining Company Venting Operation Leaves Gas Smell In South Bay
South Bay residents smelled a natural gas odor throughout the area Friday.

TORRANCE, CA — The Torrance Refining Company conducted a venting operation Friday that left a gas smell in West Torrance, the company said. Authorities in nearby Redondo Beach said multiple residents called to report a gas odor in north Redondo Beach as well.
The tank venting happened Friday morning, according to refinery officials.
Refinery personnel monitored the area but were unable to detect any gas readings above one part per million, the company said. No off-site impact was reported.
