New Members Join School Board
Michael Christensen, Brad Waller and Brad Serkin take the oath of office for the Redondo Beach Board of Education.

New members of the Redondo Beach Unified School District Board of Education Michael Christensen, Brad Waller and Brad Serkin took the oath of office at Tuesday's meeting.
The trio was elected in early March to replace termed-out members Jane Diehl, Drew Gamet and Todd Loewenstein. Christensen, Waller and Serkin were the only three who ran to replace them.
"This is an honor and a privileges for me to start my journey on the school board," Serkin said after Redondo Beach City Clerk Eleanor Manzano administered the oath of office.

The board of education also unanimously elected Laura Emdee to serve as school board president, Brad Serkin as vice president and Anita Avrick as presiding officer.
The school board also appointed Christensen as the legislative representative, Brad Waller as the member of the Southern California Regional Occupational Center Board of Education and Brad Serkin as the representative for the Beach Cities Health District and Blue Zones Project.
