Plane Crash Kills 1, Injures Another In South Bay
A single-engine Cessna 177 with two people aboard crashed shortly after departing from the airport, authorities said.

REDONDO BEACH, CA — One person was killed and another was critically injured Thursday in a small plane that crashed onto the roof of a commercial building in the South Bay.
Firefighters were sent to the 25300 block of Crenshaw Boulevard east of Torrance Municipal Airport shortly after noon, according to the Torrance Fire Department.
Information was not immediately available on the identity of the fatally injured person.

Preliminary information indicated that a single-engine Cessna 177 with two people aboard crashed shortly after departing via Runway 11R at the airport, according to Ian Gregor of the Federal Aviation Administration.
Traffic was routed away from the area while an investigation was conducted into the circumstances of the crash.
