Police: Men Stole Brooms, Barbecue

Robert Messersmith and William Fulton Jr. are charged in connection to burglaries across Southern California.

Police recently arrested two South Bay residents in connection with numerous thefts across Southern California, and officers are trying to return property to the victims.

Torrance resident Robert Messersmith, 31, and Hawthorne resident William Fulton Jr., 30, were charged with multiple thefts and weapons violations in the past week, according to a news release from the .

By matching property found during a search warrant with police reports from other thefts, officers were able to return items to some of the victims, police said. The department has posted photos of the other items on its website in hopes that other victims will identify them.

Stolen items included watches, production signs, an HP printer, a bicycle, a motorcycle helmet, an iPod nano, multiple sets of keys, other electronics, power tools, yard work instruments and a barbecue, according to photos posted on the website.

People who believe their property is pictured in the photos on the department's website should call the Crime Tips line at 310-937-6685 or email crimetips@redondo.org and leave a detailed message for investigators.
