Popular Sidecar Doughnuts To Open South Bay Location

REDONDO BEACH, CA — The popular Southern California doughnut company, Sidecar Doughnuts and Coffee, is opening a South Bay location with a grand opening on Monday, September 23.

The doughnut shop will be opening at Rolling Hills Plaza in Torrance. It will open daily at 6:30 a.m., with a closing time of 6 p.m. Sunday through Thusday, and 9 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.

"We can't wait to see you all in Torrance!" the website said.

Have you ever been disappointed by a stale doughnut? Not at Sidecar. Their doughnuts are fried in small batches every hour, so they're almost always warm, Curbed LA reported. The Torrance location will include their signature cake doughnuts, seasonal specialties, and coffee and espresso from Common Room Roasters.

The shop was designed by Fleetwood Fernandez Architects, who also designed the Del Mar location.

"To create another fresh and unique space, reflecting our playful, community-drive style, the firm turned to Torrance’s rich industrial history for inspiration and created a space reminiscent of a doughnut-making factory," the Sidecar Doughnuts Facebook page said.

The store features open work spaces so visitors can watch the doughnuts be made, hand-painted tiles, hanging plants and a vintage sidecar on one of the walls.

The Torrance location will be at 2549-B, Pacific Coast Hwy, Torrance, CA 90505. There are also Sidecar Doughnuts and Coffee locations in Santa Monica, Del Mar and Costa Mesa. For more information, visit the website.
