RBPD Running Team to Host Pasta Dinner

Members of the Redondo Beach Police Department are raising money to compete in the annual Baker to Las Vegas relay.

The Redondo Beach Police Department's Team Surf to Sand running team is hosting an all-you-can-eat pasta dinner Saturday to raise money for the Baker to Las Vegas relay run in mid-April.

The 120-mile relay from Baker, Calif. to Las Vegas, Nev., which takes place April 14-15, involves more than 250 law enforcement teams.

"In order to complete the race, we will need to raise money for support staff, supplies, food, etc.," Detective Robert Carlborg wrote in an email to Patch.

Admission to the pasta dinner at the Redondo Beach Woman's Club is $10; wine is $4 extra. Team T-shirts will be on sale for $22. There will also be a silent auction with items from Kincaid's, Pelican Products, E.T. Surf, Cheesecake Factory and Charlie's.

Tickets can be purchased at the door or in the lobby of the police station. Those who can't attend the pasta dinner but still wish to make a donation can send a check to:
