RBUSD Appoints New Assistant Superintendent
Dr. Tom Stekol previously worked for Los Angeles Unified School District.
The Redondo Beach Unified School District has hired a new Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources, the district announced Wednesday.
Dr. Tom Stekol, whose hiring was confirmed with a unanimous vote Tuesday, will begin his new role July 1.
According to the news release from RBUSD, Stekol's background includes administrative experience at both the elementary and secondary school levels. He previously worked in human resources management at Los Angeles Unified School District.
"I am thrilled to begin working for the students, parents, staff and community of Redondo Beach," Stekol said in the news release. "Everyone I have met has demonstrated a sense of purpose and a commitment to students. I look forward to being a part of such a dynamic district and to contribute to its already amazing progress."
Stekol, who has lived in the South Bay for more than 20 years, will replace current Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources Nancy Kelly.
Kelly joined RBUSD in 2006. She was appointed to the job of superintendent of Upland Unified School District earlier this year. Her time with RBUSD will end in June.
