The Redondo Beach Education Foundation gave out more than $62,000 in grants to teachers in the —the single largest amount given in the foundation's history, the organization announced Thursday night at a fundraiser held at the .
A total of 26 grants were awarded to 55 teachers and faculty members at six schools. The purposes of the grants ranged from purchasing Apple iPads to creating a school-wide digital video library.
Before the foundation announced the grant winners; however, Galleria spokeswoman Mickey Marraffino presented the RBEF with a check for $5,000.

"We're so happy to make this donation to the Education Foundation because [they] do such wonderful things for our schools," Marraffino said.
