Redondo Beach Crime: Hotel Burglary

The following information was supplied by the Redondo Beach and Torrance police departments. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

The Redondo Beach Police Department recently dealt with a couple of assaults, a burglary and a domestic situation, according to the department's Part I crime recap covering reports received Feb. 28 through Wednesday.

A burglary was also reported in the Hollywood Riviera, according to the Torrance Police Department.

At least one person grabbed a woman, shoved her to the ground and stole money from her in the Albertsons parking lot on Pacific Coast Highway in South Redondo Beach on Friday night.

Four people used a fraudulent credit card at the Best Western Sunrise hotel on Harbor Drive in South Redondo Beach. They also stole an LG flat screen television. The loss was reported  shortly before 8 a.m. Monday. The thieves are described as a 5-foot-3-inch black man weighing about 130 pounds; a 5-foot-8-inch black man weighing about 150 pounds; a 5-foot-7-inch black woman weighing about 180 pounds; and a 5-foot-1-inch black woman weighing about 130 pounds.

Perris Hull was arrested on suspicion of burglary the afternoon of Feb. 27 at the South Bay Galleria. According to police, she walked into an open business, selected clothing, cut off the security sensor in the fitting room and left. No loss was reported as the items were recovered.

Residential burglaries in Redondo Beach

Someone broke into a locked underground parking garage in the 1500 block of the Esplanade early Sunday afternoon and stole a black 2012 Kawasaki Ninja CXCR motorcycle. The motorcycle is still missing; the license plate No. is 21E3586.

Police are investigating how a burglar entered a home in the 100 block of Beryl Street on Friday morning and stole jewelry.

No loss was reported after a burglar entered an unlocked residence in the 1600 block of Van Horne Lane via the rear sliding door on the morning of Feb. 28.

A burglar pried open a rear ground-level window at a home in the 700 block of Avenue C on the morning of Feb. 27. It's unknown whether the burglar took anything.

Residential burglary in the Hollywood Riviera

Someone entered a home in the 200 block of Camino de las Colinas on the afternoon of Feb. 23. The burglar ransacked the home and stole jewelry and cash.

Vehicle burglaries in Redondo Beach

Someone punched in the door lock of a 2009 Chevrolet Suburban parked in the 2100 block of Robinson Street on Monday afternoon. No loss was reported.

A GPS device, power converter, phone charger, cassette to compact disc converter, briefcase, laptop, calculator and key to an electronic lock box were stolen from a 2004 Toyota Corolla after the culprit smashed the passenger side window at some point between Feb. 26-27. The car was parked in the 2500 block of Gates Avenue.

Stolen vehicles in Redondo Beach

A white 1997 Nissan Maxima, license No. 3TQU489, was stolen from the 2000 block of Vanderbilt Lane at some point between Feb. 25 and Friday morning.

Officers from the Redondo Beach Police Department recovered a gray 2012 Chrysler 200 on Feb. 23, the day after it was stolen from the 1700 block of South Elena Avenue.

A 2011 Dodge Durango stolen from the 2100 block of Aviation Way on Feb. 17 was recovered by the Hawthorne Police Department on Friday.
