Redondo Beach Crime: Stolen Gatorade, Washing Machine

Street robberies in Redondo Beach

Police are searching for two men who approached at least two victims near the intersection of Felton Lane and Ruhland Avenue on the afternoon of March 24 and asked to use the victims' phone. When the phone—a Motorola Razr Max—was offered, the men grabbed it and fled in a silver Ford Thunderbird from the early 1990s. The first culprit was described as a 5-foot-9-inch black man in his 20s who weighed about 150 pounds, while the second was described as a black man in his 20s.
A juvenile used force to steal a bottle of Gatorade from the victim in the 200 block of the Village the evening of March 1.

Commercial burglaries in Redondo Beach
Harold Strawther Jr. was arrested on suspicion of attempted burglary in the 2600 block of Marine Avenue on Sunday afternoon. According to police, an officer saw Strawther use a large rock to break the lock on the door. He did not enter the building, and no loss was reported.
A DeWalt compressor and Finish nail gun were stolen March 29 from a house under construction in the 2700 block of Vanderbilt Lane. The thief cut the chain link fence.
Svetlana Alieva was arrested on suspicion of burglary in the 1500 block of Hawthorne Boulevard on the afternoon of March 28. She is accused of entering an open business and removing items without paying. No loss was reported.
Someone used bodily force to open a locked rear door of a business in the 200 block of North Harbor Drive on the evening of March 26. The thief—described as a 5-foot-9-inch 23-year-old white man with a thin build—pulled the mirror off the bathroom wall, scratched "ICE 22" on it and flees. No loss was reported.
Someone somehow entered an office in the 600 block of Torrance Boulevard and stole medication samples from an unlocked desk drawer. The burglary occurred at some point between March 21-25.
Tiffany Ashlee Vaughn was arrested on suspicion of burglary the afternoon of March 24. She is accused of entering an open business in the 1500 block of Hawthorne Boulevard, selecting items from a display, hiding them and leaving without paying. No loss was reported as the items were recovered.
Someone stole money from Redondo Union High School at some point March 16-21. Police don't know how the burglar entered the locked office; however, he or she used force to open the locked cabinet containing the money.
Erika Chaidez Diaz and Rosendo Verdugo were arrested on suspicion of burglary March 21. They are accused of entering Kohls on Hawthorne Boulevard, selecting items and leaving without paying. No loss was reported; the items were recovered.
Someone broke the front glass door of a business in the 500 block of Torrance Boulevard in the early morning of March 17 and stole medication.
Residential burglaries in Redondo Beach
A burglar entered an underground parking garage in the 300 block of South Prospect Avenue and stole keys, accessories for the vehicle, a DVD, Coach sunglasses, a wallet and its contents, and paperwork. The incident occurred at some point between the morning of March 28 and Sunday at noon.
A washing machine and driver, air compressor, hand tools and other furniture were stolen March 24-27 from the 800 block of South Prospect Avenue. The burglar may have broken in by prying open a rear window.
Someone tried to break into a home in the 1000 block of Emerald Street by removing the screen on a rear window at some point March 25-27. No loss was reported.
Cellphones, an iPad, an iPad mini, an iPod, laptops and watches were stolen from a home in the 2200 block of Gates Avenue on March 26. The burglar entered through the rear sliding door.
Someone entered a home in the 200 block of North Juanita Avenue via the side window March 22 and stole a laptop and a Gibson guitar.
A burglar stole jewelry March 22 from a home with an unlocked back door in the 1200 block of Ynez Avenue.
Checks was stolen from an unlocked vehicle in an open garage in the 1900 block of Curtis Avenue at some point March 16-18. One of those checks was later cashed.
Vehicle burglaries in Redondo Beach
A Garmin GPS was stolen between Saturday afternoon and 12:30 p.m. Sunday from a 2002 Dodge Caravan parked in the 2300 block of Voorhees Avenue.
A burglar broke into a 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe on March 26-27 by prying open the driver's door lock. The burglar stole a garage remote, an iPhone, a bag, wine, sunglasses, a checkbook and alcohol from the SUV, which was parked in the 2600 block of Nelson Avenue.
A leather bag, an iPhone, phone charger, women's shoes, an overcoat, checks and CDs were stolen March 22-23 from a 2008 Lexus ES350 parked in a secured parking garage in the 1300 block of South Catalina Avenue. The vehicle was unlocked.
Black leather gloves were stolen March 23-24 from a 2010 Lexus ES350 parked in the 1600 block of Carlson Lane. The thief smashed the driver's side window.
A burglar smashed the front passenger window of a car parked in the 1500 block of Harper Avenue and stolen a Garmin GPS early in the morning of March 25.
Cash and an iPod charger were stolen March 18-19 from a 2011 Honda Accord parked in the 600 block of South Catalina Avenue.
A backpack with books, a binder and change were stolen from a 2005 Lexus RX330 after a burglar smashed one of the SUV's windows March 18-19. The car was parked in the 1500 block of Goodman Avenue.
Two pairs of Ray-Ban sunglasses were stolen March 18 from a 2004 Nissan Murano parked in the 300 block of the Village.
Vehicle burglary in the Hollywood Riviera
A burglar smashed the window of a vehicle parked in the 6100 block of Pacific Coast Highway on March 23-25 and stole a backpack, books, a calculator and a BB gun.
Stolen vehicles in Redondo Beach
A 2006 Ford E250 Van stolen from the 700 block of Rita on March 27-28 was recovered by deputies with the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department Compton Station on March 28.
Redondo Beach police recovered on Monday a 1995 Saturn SW stolen March 26-27 from the 2500 block of Voorhees Avenue.
A 1997 Nissan Maxima stolen March 1 from the 2100 block of Vanderbilt Lane was recovered by Redondo Beach police on Tuesday.
Officers with the Downey Police Department on March 25 recovered a green 1998 Nissan Maxima that had been stolen from the 1900 block of Mathews Avenue at some point between the evening of March 24 and the morning of March 25.
A black and white 2013 Kawasaki 2X64 motorcycle, license plate No. 21F1948, was stolen between the evening of March 20 and 10 a.m. March 21 from the 300 block of South Prospect Avenue.
On March 21, Long Beach police recovered a gray 2003 Toyota Matrix stolen March 19-21 from the 2700 block of Gates Avenue.
A silver 2005 Toyota Matrix stolen mid-March from the 2000 block of Clark Avenue was recovered March 16 by Long Beach police.
A white 2013 Carson Racer trailer stolen at the end of January from the 700 block of North Catalina Avenue was recovered March 26 by police in Parker, Ariz.
