Redondo Beach Firefighters Sent To Combat Palisades Fire
A dozen Redondo Beach Fire Department firefighters have been sent to help extinguish the ravaging blaze in Pacific Palisades.

REDONDO BEACH, CA — A dozen firefighters from the Redondo Beach Fire Department
have been sent to help battle the more than 11,000-acre blaze ravaging Pacific Palisades.
RBFD Chief Patrick Butler said three Fire Engines were sent to provide additional support
Tuesday morning. Typically, when helping other agencies, RBFD crews can expect to be up there for 7 to 14 days, Butler said.
"Redondo Beach Fire Engine 64 and Fire Engine 261 were one of the first Engines to respond at approximately 11:30 on Tuesday morning," Butler told Patch. "They responded into the Palisades Highland and other neighborhoods and helped evacuate people trapped in their homes and also fight the residential fires."

As of Wednesday afternoon, multiple fires were decimating LA County from the coast to Pasadena. In total, more than 20,000 acres have burned, five people have been killed and tens of thousands of people have been evacuated.
