Redondo Beach Real Estate Company At Center of Rialto Family's Eviction
The family has taken the fight to the doorsteps of the company CEO's home in Manhattan Beach.

REDONDO BEACH, CA — A San Bernardino County family has taken the fight to save their home of 10 years to the Southbay, the San Bernardino Sun reported.
The saga began last September when Redondo Beach-based Wedgewood Inc. bought the Caamal's home and served them eviction notices. Wedgewood specializes in flipping houses, the practice of buying a distressed property, making some improvements and reselling it for a profit.
When Mercedes and Pablo tried to buy their house back, the company reportedly upped the price by $100,000. The family fought back, staging vigils at their homes since March, when sheriff's deputies were expected to enforce the eviction, according to the Huffington Post.

Alliance of Californians for Community Empowerment also joined in the battle. They have staged a protest outside of Wedgewood's CEO Greg Geiser's home in Manhattan Beach. Geiser has appealed to the Manhattan Beach City Council for relief from the protesters.
The City Council introduced an ordinance on July 5 that would make it illegal to protest 150 feet from any targeted home or within 75 feet of its property line. But since the city is so densely populated, nearly anywhere within the four-square-mile city limit could be within 150 feet of any home, so the council sent the proposal back to staff for changes.
