FINAL: Redondo Beach Treasurer Election Results
Results for the Redondo Beach city treasurer runoff election between Steve Diels and Dawn Esser. Note that results are unofficial.

Steve Diels, a businessman and former District 4 councilman, is running against Dawn Esser, a former chief financial officer and activist, to replace former Treasurer Ernie O'Dell, who retired abruptly in December. Because he had more than two years left on his four-year term, the city charter required Redondo Beach to hold an election to replace him.
Diels and Esser were the top-two vote-getters in a field that included former Councilman Chris Cagle in the May election, and thus head to the July runoff.
Both candidates have stated that the office must reform and cut costs; however, each has a different method of doing so. Diels favors reducing the salary of the city treasurer by more than 50 percent, while Esser says she supports a plan to replace the retiring deputy treasurer with a part-time person.
