Redondo to Observe National Day of Prayer
All are welcome to attend the community gathering at city hall at noon Thursday.

In observance of the National Day of Prayer, the city of Redondo Beach and some local religious organizations will host a community gathering at the civic center at noon Thursday.
The ceremony is expected to last until 1 p.m.
"Since the approval of the joint resolution of Congress on April 17, 1952, calling for the designation of a specific day to be set aside each year as a National Day of Prayer, recognition of such a day has become a cherished annual event," according to a flier posted on the Redondo Beach website. "Each President since then has proclaimed a National Day of Prayer under the authority of that resolution, continuing a tradition that actually dates back to the Continental Congress, which issued the first official proclamation for a National Day of Prayer on July 12, 1775."
