Redondo Woman Thanks Education Foundation: 30 Days Of Gratitude
She celebrates the community's push to support kids' mental health and wellness.

REDONDO BEACH, CA — Rachel Andrews in Redondo Beach shares why she is grateful for the Redondo Beach Education Foundation and what the organization has done for students and families in the pandemic.
I am so grateful for the Redondo Beach Education Foundation for raising money for counseling in schools. The social-emotional/mental health needs of our students were growing before the pandemic, and our kids need the support and guidance that counselors offer now more than ever, so I deeply appreciate those who donated money to RBEF and RBEF for allocating the money so wisely. The future of our community is stronger when our kids are the priority. THANK YOU!

Living with gratitude goes beyond merely being thankful. It doesn't mean pretending bad things don't happen, but rather savoring the goodness, according to experts on the topic, including Robert Emmons, a Unviersity of California, Davis, psychology professor who is known as the "father of gratitude."

In short, living with gratitude is "an affirmation of goodness" and a recognition of the good in the world as the source of our individual gifts, benefits and blessings. Gratitude is not singularly focused, Emmons said in a YouTube video for the Greater Good Science Center, but rather recognizes that the sources of goodness are other people who "gave us many gifts, big and small, to help us achieve the goodness in our lives."
