Rita's Tentatively Sets Soft Opening Date
The Redondo Beach location of Rita's Italian Ice will be the first California location.
Rita's, a popular East Coast Italian ice and custard chain, has set a tentative date for its soft opening: April 8.
"(The) date is still tentative, as we do not control the city (and) state health inspectors," the owners wrote in a notice posted on the Rita's of South Bay Los Angeles Facebook page. "Keep your fingers crossed that we can get through them with ease."
The owners also store apologized for not being open on the spring equinox—the first day of spring—for its free "'Wooder' Ice Giveaway."

Nevertheless, the store plans to give away free ice all day on the soft opening, as well as on the day of its grand opening at some point in May.
This will be the first Rita's to open in California.

Rita's will be located in the Redondo Shores Shopping Center at 403 N. Pacific Coast Highway, Suite 101, in South Redondo Beach.
