Rita's Plans Redondo Beach Location
Rita's Italian Ice will open its first California location in Redondo Beach.
Rita's, a popular chain of Italian ice shops on the East Coast, will open its first California location in the Redondo Shores Shopping Center off Pacific Coast Highway in South Redondo Beach next year, according to its website.
Posts on the Facebook page indicate that the shop is looking at a soft opening in January, and a grand opening on the first day of spring.
In September, restaurant-rating service Zagat awarded Rita's Italian Ice multiple honors in its fast-food survey. Rita's was ranked No. 1 in the quick-refreshment category for food; No. 2 in the quick-refreshment categories for top service and best overall; and No. 1 for ice cream and custard.

Rita's will be located at 403 N. Pacific Coast Hwy., Suite 101 in South Redondo Beach.
