RUHS, Madison Rank in IEL
Redondo Union is not listed in any CIF polls this week, but riders rank in the Interscholastic Equestrian League.

The CIF Southern Section released another batch of coaches' polls Monday; however, is not ranked in football, girls tennis or boys water polo.
The polls for boys and girls cross-country and girls volleyball have not yet been released.
Last week, Redondo's boys cross country team ranked No. 10 and the girls cross country team ranked No. 4 in their respective Division 2 polls.

The Sea Hawks' girls volleyball team ranked No. 10 in the Division 1-AA poll last week. Nevertheless, the team has since suffered a loss to then-No. 5 Mira Costa High School.
October also marked the start of the Orange County Interscholastic Equestrian League competitions. Right now, Redondo Union has one rider—Victoria Friend—ranked in the competition, while has its own competitor.

Competing in the freshman hunters division aboard the horse Picassa, Friend took home an 11th-place ribbon in hunter seat equitation and a 10th-place ribbon in hunter pleasure on Oct. 8. The next day, she took home a fourth-place ribbon in hunter pleasure.
Friend's points put Redondo at No. 17 of the 18 schools in the division.
Madison fifth-grader Lucy Chapman, aboard horse Thomas Shane in the western novice division, took home second- and fourth-place ribbons in showmanship, fifth- and third-place ribbons in trail, second- and first-place ribbons in western pleasure, first- and fourth-place ribbons in horsemanship and fourth- and second-place ribbon in the OCIEL medal class.
Her points put Madison in second place overall in the division.
Redondo is tied for 41st place out of 45 schools in the league, while Madison ranks at No. 15.
