SEED Award Nominations Close Monday

The annual awards recognize environmental excellence.

Local individuals, groups and businesses that have exhibited excellence in helping to improve environmental sustainability and the quality of life in the South Bay are invited to apply for the SoCal Environmental Excellence Development (SEED) Awards Program from the members of the South Bay Business Environmental Coalition. The deadline is Monday and electronic submissions are preferred.

Awards will given for environmental leadership, pollution prevention, education and outreach, resource preservation and innovation. The Bridge-Builder Award rounds out the categories.

Honorees will be selected by a panel of business and industry representatives, with the award presentation taking place on Sept. 26 by invitation only.
The awards's aim is to encourage and inspire environmental sustainability strategies.

Past SEED award winners and honorees include former Patch columnist Joe Galliani, Northrop Grumman, Terranea Resort and the Crowne Plaza in Redondo Beach.
