HAWTHORNE, CA — A photo circulated Monday by the county health department led to the identification of a man who was admitted to a hospital after he was found unresponsive on Christmas Eve in Hawthorne.

The man, believed to be in his early to mid-20s, was found late Thursday lying in the middle of the street at 118th Street and Hawthorne Boulevard, with his skateboard nearby. He was apparently struck by a vehicle.

A photo of the patient was sent to news agencies, and he was subsequently reunited with loved ones, according to the Los Angeles County Department of Health Services, which did not release his name publicly.
