Suspect Arrested In Redondo Beach Arson, Investigators Say
Arson investigators search the area where a fire burned early Saturday in Redondo Beach. One suspect is in custody, officials said.
REDONDO BEACH, CA — An arson investigation was underway Saturday in Redondo Beach and one suspect was in custody, police announced.
Officers responded to an arson investigation in the 200 block of Torrance Boulevard about 12:34 a.m. Saturday, according to the Redondo Beach Police Department.
No one was injured. People inside the building were evacuated and no other buildings or homes were damaged.

It's unclear what caused the fire and investigators were examining the area Saturday. The sheriff's department bomb squad was also called to investigate.
"Due to the circumstances surrounding the ignition source the Redondo Beach Police Department requested the assistance of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Bomb Squad Unit," officials said.

Several streets were shut down during an active search.
One person was arrested in connection with the incident, police said. The suspect was not immediately identified.
"At this point it is not believed that there are other suspect(s) involved in this incident that have not been located," police said.
