Suspect Attempted To Rape Woman Walking Dog, Police Say

A 21-year-old Inglewood man was arrested on suspicion of attempted rape by force or duress, police said.

REDONDO BEACH, CA — A 21-year-old Inglewood man was arrested on suspicion of attempted rape by force or duress in connection with a reported sexual assault, according to the Redondo Beach Police Department Tuesday.

A woman was walking her dog when she was assaulted by a suspect about 7:47 p.m. Monday in the 500 block of Diamond Street, police said.

A witness saw what happened, then ran to help the victim, and stop the suspect until officers arrived, police said. They took the suspect into custody without incident.

The victim was taken to a hospital and treated for minor injuries.

Edwin Alberto Donissuchite, 21, of Inglewood, was arrested and booked on suspicion of attempted rape by force or duress. His bail was set at $100,000.

"Investigators are reviewing video surveillance from the area where the crime occurred and interviewing witnesses," police said. "Investigators are not releasing the booking photo of the suspect at this time due to the ongoing investigation."
