Suspects In Custody After Crash & Search In South Bay

Authorities are looking for a suspect who fled from police officers after a crash.

REDONDO BEACH, CA — Police Friday night were searching on the ground and by helicopter for a suspect who fled following a crash in Redondo Beach, authorities said.

The search was underway near Avenue B, C, D, E, between Prospect Avenue and Cataline Avenue, according to the Redondo Beach Police Department. The suspect was taken into custody by 10:30 p.m.

No further details about the crash and search were immediately released.

"The suspect is believed to be within this area," police said.

Police described the man as a 20-year-old Black man with a thin build, wearing a gray shirt. No further description was available.
