Suspicious Package Found at Social Security Office in South Bay

TORRANCE, CA — A suspicious package was found in the parking lot of the Social Security Office in Torrance on Thursday afternoon, police said.

Authorities from the Torrance Police Department, Torrance Fire Department, Federal Police and the city's Public Works Department are responding. The package was found in the parking lot in the 22600 block of Crenshaw Boulevard.

Authorities have closed Crenshaw Boulevard between 235th Street and Sepulveda Boulevard off to all traffic. all westbound traffic approaching Crenshaw Boulevard is being diverted north and south, from Sepulveda Boulevard through 227th Street, at Pennsylvania Avenue.
