4 Arrested After Brawl Outside Redwood City In-N-Out

Police said a confrontation outside the restaurant culminated in several people injured by a metal pipe.

REDWOOD CITY, CA — Four people were arrested Friday night after a confrontation erupted into a brawl outside a Redwood City In-N-Out, according to police.

Officials said multiple assaults were reported in the restaurant parking lot on Veterans Boulevard around 9 p.m. Officers learned a confrontation began when two men armed with a metal pipe approached a group of young people, incorrectly believing they had been involved in a strong-arm robbery earlier in the week.

Police said the men attacked multiple people with the pipe before the other group wrestled it away and used it on them. However, police said the retaliation was "not consistent with self-defense."
